I'm running a 402 stroker with wiseco -8cc R/dome pistons, 6.125 scat rods,eagle crank,tsp's prc.stg.3 heads with 2.08-1.60 valves, milled .10 for a 64cc chamber.running a .40 cometic gasket to get 11:4 compression and running a ms4 in their.Will their be any clearance issues?Let me know guys thanks!

Erik is building me a 408 Callies crank and rods, Comp XER 244/248 .612/.615, 5.3L heads milled .022 to 63cc. with Weisco -10cc custom pistons. You shouldn't have PTV issues because of the valve reliefs, just be sure to degree and clay. I would be somewhat concerned about the 11.4 SCR. I was going to use the -8cc Weiscos but I didn't want a 11.4 SCR since a friend of mine recently nuked his engine from too high a CR, so I decided to go with the custom -10cc to keep the CR at about 11.1.

Don't plan your engine build on anecdotal evidence of an engine failure that could have so many variables besides outright static compression.

I'm coming up with a rough estimate of a 8.4-8.5 DCR, depending on the gasket you use, from your info. That is the sweet spot for premium pump gas.

you got releifs, so you should have plenty of clearance.

yes it has valve reliefs and should I degree the cam or should I leave it alone and I havent milled the heads yet.Should I get them milled or is it not even worth it just to be safe.

Yep, oh so true and ditto on the DCR!

Man I run 11.88 SCR on premium with no issues (and I shoot with dry on top)

SCR is not the source of engine failure unless he had a tiny cam with 9+ DCR and tons of detonation.
If that is the case the detonation and his stupidity was cause of failure.
