Default Cylinder Wall Thickness/ Valve Spacing

Does anyone know the cylinder wall thickness on a stock LSx, with an iron block, particularly a 5.3L ?

As well, does anyone know anybody that has bored out 5.3's to 3.898, or any sites that talk about doing so.

Also, i have a set of 706 heads, does anyone know the valve spacing on these heads, or the distance from the center of the cylinder bore, to the centers of both valves?

I suggest that you do a search at http://www.performancetrucks.net/forums/. Your best bet on the cylinder wall thickness is to have your block sonic checked. You should have about .200" as a minimum after boring on the thrust walls (left and right sides of the engine) and.090" to .100" on the non-thrust walls of the cylinders (fore and aft sides).

On the heads, I'd call one of the sponsors and discuss the specifics of your head question with someone who is savvy to your circumstances and goals.

The cylinder wall thicknesses may vary quite a lot from cylinder to cylinder in a given block and from block to block. Due to core shift and production vairabilities, there can be a lot of difference. If you will do some digging (search is working well right now), you will find evidence to back this up.
