Good question, I'm running a .044-.045 gap on my TR6's, wondering if that's a little too tight for optimal on a H/C setup.

I would say .040 is a good gap for H/C. I know some that run .035.

I run stock gap on my setup too, also with TR55s. When I switch to TR6s, I'll be cutting that gap down to .035-.040 for the spray though.

It depends on your compressions. Both SCR and DCR
For every 1 point up in SCR without going over 8.5 DCR, reduce .010>.015 to .040>.045 range
Now, the same but over 8.5 DCR then reduce also 1 heat range

Mine are TR6 @ .045. Works well.

I heard the rule of thumb was to reduce gap .005 for every 50 BHP

TR6's gapped at .038, but I'm putting down 500 to the ground. I would run closer to stock gap with TR55's like around .045 for your app.
