H/C ??? (Kinda Long)
Okay, so the cam is here - Trex. The TSP LS6 Heads are on their way. These are going into an '02 LS1 with 18k on it. Also ordered new lifters and a timing chain from SDPC. I did not order an oil pump cuz it's a low mileage '02, with great oil psi (but if I'm gonna do the chain... Why not?).
I was gonna wait till the heads got here to check PTV before I ordered the Cometics and also to check the PR length.
Question - Anyone running this setup? I would like to use .040 - .045 Cometics. What size PR's with that setup? And, (I think I know the answer to this), would you replace the oil pump?
Any other comments? Fire away...

You cannot use athinner gasket with that cam unless you flycut.
And if your heads have any other valves beside stock, you'll have to flycut as well.
IMO flycut, mill the heads some and use a .040 gasket.

Thanks Guy's - Keep 'em comin...
Predator,
They are stock valves in th LS6's. I was told, by Jason, that they could be milled no more than .012 and still clear better than stock. So... I thought to tighten the quench a bit, I'd try a thinner gasket instead of the mill. I am going to verify PTV once everything gets here.
If I need to fly cut - so be it... But I'll be bummed I got the stock size valves
My Excel is not working (Trial period expired, time to upgrade) and I can't use the DCR calculators on here.
Thanks Again,
Chuck

Just FYI
I did MS4, PRC LS6 S1, GM #12498544 gaskets (.054 I think) and about to do 7.450 pushrods. (I tried 7.350, 7.400 and 7.425 all with no luck on preload).
When Jon at TSP told me they use regular GM gaskets on this setup, plus they are like $100 cheaper.
