Default Stock rod bolts 98-2000/2001-2002

I heard that the rod bolts in the 98-2000 LS1's were somewhat decent but puney. Then i also heard that 01-02 rod bolts are some kinda "performance bolts" that GM started using. Is this true? My car is an 02. I'm a little hesitant on what I should spin my car to. It went on the dyno last week and made 414RWHP only spinning to 6100 rpm through a slipping transmission and a LOOSE Yank converter. Ive been thinking about when I get it re tune next week due to some issues if I should just leave it where its at or maybe go 6400...how safe would I be from avoiding the spun bearing club?

6400 is nothing. You don't tell what cam you have, so I don't know where your power falls off, but you should set it so you can rev high enough to shift at a point that gives you the most average HP.

It will make alot more power beyond 6100 I just dont want to join the spun bearing club so 6400 is doable? Do you know if thats true about the rod bolts?

Its funny, I hear a lot of people worry about rod bolts when spinning an engine hard but I have never heard of factory rod bolts failing in any year F-Body. Just my .02.
