Default Biggest cam????LS6 engine

Now i know i have heard some ridicilous big cams but just want to know if anyone knows what's the boggest cam u can run without the fear of smacking a piston.....i.e. normal driving conditions or detonation.... the cam I might be running is really huge but dont know if i should valve relief the pistons for safety...Thanks
