Timing chain crank gear loose?
Alright, I am finishing up the short block today(well, im done for the night). I installed a new keyway(or woodruff key, whatever its called) on the crankshaft and then I installed the new double roller timing chain crank gear thing(insert name here lol).. It slides easily on and off.. is this right? if not, whats wrong? I mean, it seems like it wont be going anywhere, and it dosent rock around, just slides forward and back easily before I installed the chain.. Now it stays in place but I want to make sure this isnt a concern.
I just know that on the old crank ive got sitting in the garage i couldent get the damn thing to budge on it, which is why I went and bought the new key at the dealership today.
Thanks guys,
Lurius

No, its not the chain, and its new. It is the actual cog piece that slides onto the crank snout, and over the key. It clides easily forward and backwards when the chain is not attached.
