Default building new motor

I have a bottom end knock in my 2000 ls1. I thought it was piston slap. Its not. I would like to build a motor this one is still going. So, when it does go ill already have a built one to put in. Where would i get just a LS1 block from? Or, is there a somewhere where i can buy a performance block already assembled?
