Default Torquer 2 w/ stock ls6 heads, anyone done it?

If so, what length pushrod did you end up using? Anyone that can offer some help, please chime in. The motor is a 2004 LS6 with stock LS6 64.45cc heads, no miling or porting.

I would guess a 7.425 would be ideal with stock head gaskets. Anyone to confirm?

Should have clarified, I'll also be using the 02+ GM MLS gaskets with a compressed thickness of ~.054". Anyone experience PTV clearance issues with this setup? The search didn't retrieve any posts dealing with the torquer 2 in a stock ls6 motor.

More details, the cam is on a 112 LSA with no ground in advance or retard (AFIK).

I asked the same question awhile back. Ive got stock LS6 heads ive had milled .015 to put on my car w/ GM head gaskets. Ive been looking at the Torquer 2 or Patriot 226 as well. Alot of people responded that 7.4 PRs are just fine.

I haven't done this personally....I had 5.3L heads with my Torquer 2, but I've seen it done with Stock LS6 heads and 7.400 Pushrods on an LS2

Also,

I just spoke to Jon @ Texas-Speed yesterday about using .040 Cometic Head Gaskets on my 04 GTO (an LS1, but it uses the newer LS6 block) with the T2 and my 5.3L's (Which have less clearence than the 243 LS6 Heads) and he told me I shouldn't have any issue with PTV, so I'm sure you'll be fine.

Hope your right, I really don't feel like flycutting the pistons! If she spins over freely after assembly, ill consider it cool.

Untouched 243 casting heads with stock valves, stock gaskets and the Torquer 2 should not have any clearance problems. It's always fun to check PTVC though Here's how I did it: https://ls1tech.com/forums/showpost....64&postcount=6

No PTV clearance issues at all! Install it dot to dot and you will be fine. Also, we recommend running the 7.400" pushrods. We sell this package over and over and it works great! Let us know if you have any other questions!

Thanks!
Jon
