Default thinkin for swappin 205s for 225?????!

so after all the 550HP 500TQ cars im just wondering if its worth it for my to get some AFR 225s maybe a little bigger 250-254 113+3 cam maybe something like that.

or in reality just be happy with it and see what the track brtings. and the 200SHOT.

But i get the internet bug when seeing all the 550HP stuff. i dont know.

i guess i should just stop reading the dyno section and spend more time on the TRACK section...

so my question is it worth the money and time for the 50HP i MIGHT get no guarentee on it

I say you should run it at the track first. If all you think its worth is 50hp then I say just spay 50 more in nitrous.

Stick with the 205's in a stock displacement build....

With the right combination of parts you can achieve 500+ RWHP.

Thats about all the money from a pump gas 346 hydraulic roller motor.

If you want more than that start looking at some stroker packages.

You will not see a big gain upstairs with the swap but will regret the loss of low and midrange snap.

Save your money and stick with the 205's....

A minor oversight....LOL

Actually reworking the 205's is still an option (to maximize the larger bore) and strong results have been posted with a few 402's without even doing that, but certainly an aggressive 402 build would warrant and make good use out of a 225.

Camaro Kid, I know we went back and forth on an intake awhile ago (forgot about the stroker and didnt notice it in your sig) so feel free to pick up the phone or PM me if you would like me to more clearly explain the differences between the two. Already having the 205's in hand makes the decision on which way to go not as cut an dry.

Cheers,
Tony

PS....For those running a stock displacement dual purpose vehicle, my advice above certainly still has merit.

what happens if nothing else changes only my runner size. compression stays the same as i like my bottom end just would like more up top since it does die down above 6100. keeping the cam should keep my bottom end ok i checked what DCR would be with say a 250-254 112+4
and it goes from 8.5 to 8.34????? humm what to do

Call me tomorrow...

I've got a few ideas cookin for you....

Tony

PS....The car would have to be down for a few weeks to a month though. If your looking for hero track times having it ready for the fall would be good for obvious reasons.

Tony what about stock displacement with a blower-I'm a 920rwhp@5900 rpm with a F1R, Patriot CNC "243" head-stock valves. I want AFR's-I ran them in the past with mega results-do I go 205 or 225?

thanks!
