Default Critique this shortblock (forged 347/nitrous)

Re-use the '99 block (already replaced original motor with a stock one last year) that's in my car with..

-Mahle 3.905"/flat-top pistons and rings, $500
-Callies CompStar 6.125" rods $600 (or Lunati Pro-Mods for a couple bucks more?)
-Callies main caps $550 (necessary? strongly recommended?)
-ARP main studs $300 ($150 + $150 align hone)
-ARP head studs $220
-Ported LS6 oil pump $150
-LS7 lifters <$150
-Rod/main/cam bearings <$250

Car makes around 450rwhp head/cam as is, and I'd like to be able to safely spray another 300 at it, but it probably will not see more than 200-250 ever (more than likely in 2-3 stages rather than progressive also).

The pump/lifters and such are things that I didn't upgrade past LS6 oil pump with the heads/cam. The above should include everything I'll need except gaskets and a few other parts I'll be replacing while the motor is out again.

$2750 plus labor and such. This should be pretty much bullet-proof for my needs. Am I going to need the billet main caps? Are the rings that come with the Mahle pistons good for spray?

For that much nitrous i would recomend a different piston. Mahle doesn't use low silcate alloys so their forgings are a bit more brittle. I would look into a CP or Diamond nitrous piston for such a setup.

Okay, was also thinking about JE or Wiseco, but obviously the price attracted me to the Mahle kits. What rings should I look at then?

pistons=diamond, oil pump=melling, lifters=crane cams, bearings=coated king or clevite. imo.

I understand Wiseco, Diamond, and JE are some of the recommended pistons for nitrous apps.

As for the oil pump, I was probably going to go Katech or TR LS6 pump.

For my application (revs are under 7k, shifts are at 6800), LS7 lifters will be more than enough. I'd either go those, Caddy race, or fork out the cash for Morrel's (sp?) depending on cash at the time.

Left out specifics on the bearings because that would be decided upon at build time by the shop and me.

I used Ross pistons in my old 347cid. and run a 250 shot of nitrous just about every weekend during the worm mouths with no problems at all.
