Default Cam questions

I am installing a custom Lunati cam I got used. It is a 223.6 int/ 223.6 exh, .558 lift and a 115.4 lobe sep. ( numbers per cam doctor at Thunder Racing) I bought it 2 Yrs ago as a used MTI B1 cam. I am putting it into a 99 M6 car with SLP longtubes with cats. How do you think this will run and idle, also will it pass emmission testing and also will it need tuning
Thanks

Default Re: Cam questions

From what I have experienced, cams over 220 duration usually need some tuning to pass emissions. A 220 may get by without it and I'm sure some members here have passed with bigger cams than that but, this is generally the rule.

With an LSA like that, the idle will probably be pretty good. The power should come on nicely...maybe around 2700-3000 and carry past 6K. It sounds like you'll enjoy it quite a bit! Headers and all will help it for sure. To maximize the cam, look into professional tuning (if you can't do it) but will it need it? Probably not to begin with.

That should be a pretty good cam, the lsa seems odd, B1's are 114 correct?
