dropped a bolt in oil pan...
I got the bolt out but had to drop oil pan to get it out. Is there any reason why I couldn't just bolt the oil pan back to the car without changing gaskets? I just dropped oil pan an inch or so and fished the bolt out with an extendable magnet. How long should I drive around to heat treat the springs? I just drove for a couple of minutes below 4000 rpms and made sure to get it up to operating temps. TIA for reponses.

Like Robert said, you do not need to replace the gasket. It is rivetted to the pan, and quite reusable.
I didn't heat cycle my LS6 springs, but I did "take it easy" for the first 100 miles or so... I went on many short trips, but the engine never cooled completely. I think to REALLY heat cycle them you have to bring them up to operating temp at an idle, then let it cool completely 3 or 4 times. (But who the hell can wait that long after installing a new cam!)

You shouldn't have any issues reusing the oilpan gasket, but you'll want to clean off the old silicone from around the front and rear covers, and put some fresh silicone on there so it doesn't leak...
