Default H/C Swap + High Altitude + NO tune = ??

Just installed 224/224 112 and AFR 205's, with all the goodies... I was thinking of running up to Lake Tahoe (6,000 ft!) from sea level...

How stupid is this idea?
Will I make it up there?

It is MAF tuned for the H/C already?
If so...the MAF should adjust accordingly.

I hate altitude. Local track here is 5800. Makes my build look slow.

Yeah.
Anyway to datalog it at WOT when you get there??

I have always been told if I were to take mine to sea level the MAF would adjust, but a tune wouldn't be a bad idea just to make sure.

My camaro had a heads/cam tune from stl when I brought it here. It ran pig rich but ran fine and smooth. I'd say it will run fine but will be in need of fine tuning. trapped a whopping 108 here....(117 in stl)

I live in reno, and take my car to tahoe, You will notice a dramatic powerloss, it will feel like you lost all kinds of power.

I am the other way.

I trap around 117-118 in Denver.
Can't wait to feel the altitude mod someday.
Should pick up 10MPH or so.

Reno is still around the 5000ft mark, but, when you take it up in the mountains you notice the difference in power and sound. When I take my car over to sacramento its a night and day difference.

You'll be o.k.

Your MAF is smart..it will adjust as the pressure lowers.

I've made it just fine up Vail Pass (Colorado) which is ~12,000 feet.

5th gear all the way up. Sounds great echoing off the mountains.

Have fun in Lake Tahoe. You'll be fine..
