Default How do you check for a collapsed lifter?

Yes I know it taps. I know its not a exhust leak, I know its not a rod bearing.

There is no metal in the oil.

It only does it after being warmed up.

It goes with the RPM of the engine

Its only comming from the drivers side head.

Main reason I want to is because I have the OFI kit. And yes pulling the head should be easy butttttttttt....everything is on that side so I have to pull the whole kit off to get that head off.

I just want to be 100% sure before I pull that head off.

Another thing alot of people said use LS7 lifters and someone said use CompR's are they worth the extra cost or just use the LS7's

Mine was making a clanking noise, not just a tap. Mine also did it when it was cold and you couldn't hear it at idle. And taking the heads off in the car sucks if your going to replace one, you should replace them all. They come in a set.
