Default Professional installation Cam cost?

Posted this in the wrong section - External and Internal - big difference.

Looking into having a good local shop do a stage 2 custom grind from Comp Cams, with all parts & the top end install done & dyno driven tuning - quoted $2750 - for those of you that paid to have this done professionally, does that sound right / good, or should I shop around?

My car is a 2001, M6, WS6 with a lid, headers, Ypipe, high flow cats and a custom cat back ~ with 54,xxx miles - should I do plugs at this point? Runs strong right now with 339 rwhp ~ want to hit 390 to 400.

Thanks,

Chris

I was qouted about $850 in labor costs alone from Thunder Racing. This is NOT including the tune. Add in the parts you want and you'd get an idea. Personally i think that 850 is a little high IMO, but theres a reference for you.

~750-1000 high depending on what "extra's" are included, such as ported oil pump and/or timing chain, single or double springs...etc

$1750 with oil pump and double roller timing chain. Cam, springs and push rods as well as the initial $400 dyno tune was included in the figure. Shop around for sure.

i paid a touch over $1300 for dyno tune, cam install, springs, ls6 ported oil pump, ls6 intake, lower t-stat, under drive pulleys, msd wires and plugs.

not bad...and now the shop does a cam springs install including the hardware for $1400 I cant remeber the full details.

edit: why wouldn't you do plugs/wires now...when its all apart.
