Default Need help!

Ok here i go, i was cleaning the pistons off during my heads and cam swap and came across something bad! The rear 2 pistons appeared to have had some piston to valve contact. What would cause this? It wasnt from me driving it i bought it used while in iraq. It ran fine no noises or anything i figured a pushrod would bend before that would happen. Pistons arent cracked just 2 dents is it safe to proceed with my heads and cam swap till i can afford a new shortblock?

p.s the 2 pistons were the rear 2 on the drivers side
