Sarted the winter project this weekend (pics)
I dropped out the engine and trans this weekend for the winter to get ready for the upgrades. Thank god i was able to do it at work using a lift and a engine table. I had it out and on the table in abotu 2 hours. I also pulled the bumper off to replace the support beam between the frame rails. The previous owner was in a accident and rear ended somone and the body shop that did the work never replaced the beam so the fog lights didn't line up with the bumper. winter upgrades: hand ported and polished heads (by me), t-rex cam (or somthing along those lines havn't decided yet), patriot duals, timming chain, oil pump, push rods, lifters, underdrive pully, 85mm tb, arp rod bolts, poly motor and trans mounts, sub frame conectors, and i think thats about it. anyone got any comments and sugestions i'm open to them. what do you guys think? here's some pics of the extraction.

thanks for the intrest and advice guys. I don't really have any before numbers or anything to go by. Had it to the track once and did a 13.2 with street tires and was my first time. I've been driving it without a tune since i installed the headers and clutch 2 years ago. i planned on doing a cam since then but never did and now is the time. I was thinking about milling the heads and flycutting but from what i understand you need a junk head to flycut and i don't have one and don't really want to buy one. I'm going to new era on friday and i'm gonna talk to them about flycutting and cams. I picked up a set of new prc extreme duals from a member on here so thats what i plan on using. Keep the comments and ideas comming guys. i'll keep the post updated as i make progress.

it's been a long winter project but the time has finnaly come to finish it up and get it running again. i got the engine all back together and it's going back in this sat. got the arp rod bolts installed and new rod bearings, new era street sweeper cam (236/240 .630 .612 111 lsa), double timming chain, melling oil pump, ls7 lifters (drilled lifter trays), comp pr, prw rockers, patriot springs, hand ported 5.3 heads (milled enough to clean them up and manley stainless 2.00 and 1.60 valves), bbk intake, 85mm professional products tb, 30# red top injectors, poly mounts, and delete pcv, egr, and air. i think i got it all haha. hopfuly all goes well sat and then just got to have the tune. i'm hoping it will put down some good numbers. here are some pics to current.
