measure cam profile

Is there an easy way to measure cam profile without installing it?

I got a hand me down h/c from a buddy who has no clue what the specs are. I just want to know so I can plan ahead.

Find someone with a Cam Doctor or try to find a part # or grind #, usually located on the front face of the camshaft.
