Exclamation Operating Tempature

What is "normal" or "optimal" operating temp on a stock ls1 mine is running 210 sometimes a little more depending on how hard I drive her.

1998 F-bodies will show the true temp on the gauge, 1999-2002 F-bodies will show only cold, warm (210), and hot on the temp gauge. GM set these cars to run between 190-220 degrees, so 210 (if verified through a scanner on later odels) is fine.

what he was saying is that if you have a 99 or above year camaro w/ an ls1 its always going to say your in the areas of 200ish temp wise. it might be cooler and probly is, it might be hotter and its going to read the same. it only reads cold and if your over heating then it will jump up to the hotter temps.

you will gain a few ponys but it causes faster engine wear. I don't think it will even get into open loop at that temp. Run stock 195 or no lower than 180. what 12secSS said was true. Fancy dummy guage.
