Screwed what? screwed up or screwed in to the block. Yes IMHO you need all the bolts holding your tranny to your motor...get it fixed.

Not an issue. Transmissions were fine without an extra bolt for years.

I'd leave it. Its a bummer though but basicly you have to take everything apart I broke a header bolt not to long ago in my brand new heads I tryed to fix it and just ended up with some new scars but its not leaking so screw it.
I'd say as long as you didnt mess any of the other bolts up your fine and the next time you drop it fix it.

I would leave it too, but it would also sit in the back of my mind and bother me just a little. Oh wait, I almost forgot, I am missing a tranny bolt right now and I don't really even think about it until I read threads like this one.

get it out if you can. i would

...if it doesn't i wouldn't consider it that big a deal though. the th400/th350 guys only use 5 bolts in their bellhousings, and most of them are pretty high horsepower guys and they don't have any problems that i'm aware of...

On one of my old cars, when I pulled the trans there was 2 bolts missing. One of the very top, and one of the bottom. Ran that way for almost 2 years before I pulled the trans. No problems.

I wouldn't condone leaving it, but it isn't going to hurt anything missing one bolt. Once the transmission is bolted to the bell housing and you hook up the cross member thats bolted to the body, the cross member keeps the transmission in place. It's not going to fly out of the back of the car just cause you're missing a bolt
