How many pickup teeth are on the LS1 cam position sensor?
as the subject describes ... i was also wondering about how many pickup teeth the crank position sensor has? (though i thought crank position sensor was mandated by OBD2 specs)
thanks!
oh, also - how many wires does the LS1 PCM have coming off of it? And does LS1edit allow you to control ignition advance?

The crank position sensor is a Hall Effect sensor, that is basically a magnetic pickup. The reluctor wheel on the crankshaft has teeth.
The function of a Hall sensor is based on the physical principle of the Hall effect named after its discoverer E. H. Hall: It means that a voltage is generated transversely to the current flow direction in an electric conductor (the Hall voltage), if a magnetic field is applied perpendicularly to the conductor. As the Hall effect is most pronounced in semiconductors, the most suitable Hall element is a small platelet made of semiconductive material.
