Default Gains to be expected from 806 heads to 241???

Hey guys i was inspired to post this up from a thread i seen a min ago from a guy switching his heads.

Right now i have a 98 trans am with cam ,intake,Full exhaust and stock 806 heads .I have heard nothing good about these heads so i was thinking of getting a set of of the 241 heads from a 01-02 fbody and putting them on my car.I will install them my self and you can pick them up pretty cheap from what i seen. But would it be worth it ,would i gain any hp from the change any guesses of hp gain would greatly appreciated ,

I just cant at this time afford to get a nice set of aftermarket heads due to me buying a Stronger rear end .I would just like to have a Solid 380-390rwhp car . and curently i put down 370rwhp with the stock heads and Tb ,and maf in high humidity and heat on they dyno

So please guys share some knowledge with me

i went from 853's to 241's on a stock LS1 and noticed a little, seat of the pants difference. i dont know what the numbers say because i didnt get it dynoed but i probably got 5-10? maybe not even that big. with your mods i dont see why you couldnt reach the 380 mark by switching to 241s

I don't think it's worth the swap. Maybe if you mill them and put the thinner gaskets as Shawn recommended, but that ain't cheap. Your gonna invest $400-500(if you mill and buy thin gaskets) into a head swap that might net you 10-15HP. I would just save up for a set of ported heads and see some real gains.

theres no reason to do the swap unless your putting a set of ported heads on. not worth it
