Default Oil pump/Timing Chain install

I am about to do my cam swop and i have a jwis timing chain and a katech ported oil pump. i was just wondering if i should actually try swoping these. I just dont want to get it all back together and have low pressure. How hard is it to line up the o-ring?
Thanks
Tim

Definitely swap them out, its worth the extra insurance. If you don't you will kick yourslef later for not doing it, especially if you have a failure. Lining up the o-ring is not hard at all. Just take your time. I would get an extra o-ring just in case you damage one.

I used a new O-ring with my pump install. I think some people have problems because they put the pump on all the way then try to force the pickup tube into the pump. You need to coax the tube into the pump while at the same time coaxing the pump onto the crankshaft, and it has gear teeth that must line up. It's kind of a pain but just take you're time and it will work out fine. Also, be sure to put the O-ring on the tube first, not in the pump opening.

yeah, it's not to bad. whenever you do the swap just make sure you put the pickup tube in as you put the oil pump on the crank. then bolt up the oil pickup tube and then bolt the oil pump to the block. good luck
