ls6 heads w/ stock ls1 cam
would it be worth it to install some ls6 heads on my ls1 if im planning on leaving the stock cam in it ? I have to pull off the heads anyway and was just wondering if I would see gains with doing just the heads.

Does anyone else have any experience with doing this? I really dont think you will see a 25rwhp gain with LS1 cam. I was thinking more like 10-15rwhp gain. What have you guys seen i know someone has done this.

Stock LS6 heads, no porting, no milling? Stock LS1 cam? Sorry, but no way youll see anywhere close to 25 HP. Gains from these heads will increase as cam size goes up, but even with a sizeable cam, you only see about 5 - 10 HP increase over LS1 heads, not counting gains from tuning. Personally I hardly things its worth the effort. Get the heads ported and install a cam at the same time, then youll see some large gains.

i believe when i spoke to TSP they said up to 20rwhp , probably do to the .25 pt compression increase. if you really plan on leaving the stock cam in consider 1.85 rockers to increase your lift. thats with the ls6 springs in the new heads good to 570 lift. just my 2 cents
