Is it to late for cam-150K?

I believe the engine life is cut short not because of the cam but the heavy foot that goes with the larger cam. If you drive it like normal and don't have it to the floor all the time I don't see how a cam would hurt anything. I know of some people that like the sound of a cam more than anything and don't drive the car hard so if you are one of those guys then cam that baby and enjoy the sound..

I wouldn't, because even if cylinders are clean (good compression) the bearings have done their duty.
Point is unless you are ready to do a rebuild, better think twice. No one here can garantee how long it will last, but one day it will fail.

I'd Give it a shot new spring retainers and lifters and seals may help it last longer (may) but then you also have to consider everything else your mostly your transmission and your rear.
If the engine pops then just buy a new one haha.

I just did mine at 119k. I have a strict promise in my head to rebuild at 150k if she is still running fine but part of me wants to assemble the motor on a stand and just run the current one until it blows up and swap the built motor in the same day for quick turn around. Either way if you have the money rebuild it and if you don't I would go real mild like I did an go with something smaller than a 224 cam that you can run with just ls6 springs like the ls6 cam, asa cam or just something with smaller duration and lift than the 224 cam.

Btw I have run compression checks and the motor still made 170-180psi across all 8 so I feel pretty good about the choice. Do not do until you run a compression/leak down test for sure man.

If it were me I would either save up for a 402 or rebuild the motor in the car. Once you start spinning the bearings higher they wont like it. You may be ok but if you plan to race it then the motors day are numbered. Or I could be wrong and you could get 250k out of it. After seeing a guys bearing spin after 28k I realize just about anything can happen.

My car has 133,000 on it and I run down 40,000 mile SLP SS's at the track like there standing still....
I say only do it if its affordable and you can do the labor yourself.... It will be good practice for when the stock motor goes
