Question ZO6 243s and FM13 or 14?

Im looking for some input on a cam and head swap for our 00. Right now, my girls combo is:

SLP Lid
P&P TB
LS6 Intake
Stock Heads(853s?)
TSP 231/237 w/918s
SLP L/Ts/ Maggie Hi-Flows
UDP

It makes 392rwhp/368rwtq. The torque curve has a pretty nasty plateau before it rises to peak, which is slightly lower than the torque peak in our 02(Mods in sig)

Now to the question: Do you knowledgable cam guys think decent gains are possible with a set of ZO6 243s, and an FM13 or FM14 over our current setup? I know the bigger cam isnt always better, but it seems that people make decent numbers on these cams. Also, the reason im going with stock 243s is because we dont know what we'll do down the road, so id like a cheap good flowing head, until we make a final decision.

Will i need to flycut the pistons? Also, what LSA would you guys recommend? Im REALLY open to suggestions (And DONATIONS) to let me know what you guys think.

If you are on a budget the 243's will net you another ~20 rwhp over the 853's but its not work the extra 6-8rwhp for the cam swap.

I'd stick with your curent cam and spend the money on a decent set of heads

I have a set of TSP PRC LS6 heads( 4 Months old) with the .660 Duals available if you were interested they have around 4000 miles on them...

I have a stock LS6 headed Camaro with FM13 in it and when I had the LS6 stock unported 243 heads and the MTI Billet Throttlebody. With my set up in my signiture below I made 418rwhp on a Mustang brand dyno with my FM13 cam before my FAST 90 intake. I am very pleased with the cam and with the tune in it is very drivable but I dont know if it will be worth you changing your. And no I didnt have to fly cut the pistons with it. Good Luck

I can speak from experience that you DO NOT need to flycut for the F13. I have that cam and Patriot Racing ported 243 heads.

I don't have any experience with the TSP cams, but the F13 is great on a tight compression setup with ported heads. Cam has a really strong power band from 3500-6600 and I have been very happy with it so far.

Hitting the dyno this week for a full tune, and I'll let u know what the setup puts down.

Theres a vid on my cardomain page with my F13 and Patriots idling. Check it out if you're curious.

Are there any other cams you guys would recommend to make good power? I may just have to look into some ported heads.

Ill try to get the dyno graph up, but the torque plateaus and drops slightly from around 3200-4500rpm. I have the graph from the original tune at MTI and it shows there as well.
