Default wiring problem!! 408 install

hey,

i have a 97 corvette and i just took out my motor andi nstalled a 408 but my buddy did part of it and i cant figure where two wires go to... both are from the battery, one is from the negative and one is from the pos. where does this go???? the block is different on the newer 408 so some of the grounds do not work out where they went last time. please help

What block did you use for the 408 build??

the one from the positive goes to the block and the one from the negative needs to be in the frame. I had to use a self tapping screw for the negative ground since I had it relocated. hope that helps u out.

lol.... hell, i dont know. its the tsp 408 iron block, it has 6.0l engraved on the side from gm.

so the negative should just bolt up to the frame somewhere. and i need to find a place on the block for the positive. this is why you should not let other people work on your car if you are planning to do the install yourself. i still cant see where it needs to go. remeber this is a corvette. battery is at the rear( where the computer is in an f-body) and these wires are real short, barely gets to the motor.

could the positive wire be hooked up to the heads? I know I just bolted it to the block near the oil pan were there was an unused hole. for the negative groud I just drilled a hole near where the wire was able to reach and hidden. just figure it out and you will get her running.
