60K miles w/metal shavings and bottom end knock!!!! well, i have 60K miles on my Arctic white 98Z28 M6 and have found metal shavings in the past few oil changes...not to mention in the past few days ive noticed a knock coming from the bottom end of the motor...this sucks b/c i dont really beat on my car besides the occassional race here and there....any recommendations for me??? if i rebuild, what do i need besides new gaskets, bolts, ported oil pump(recommended), magnaflux the crank and rods??? can i re-use the pistons???

Re: 60K miles w/metal shavings and bottom end knock!!!! probably will have to replace/turn the crank and use undersized bearings. If the walls are ok, you probably can get away with a light hone and a rering (which isn't a bad idea anyway as GM rings suck)
