im just curious. being from the lt1 crowd i dont know much about modding ls1s. my buddy seems to have made a bad cam decision and might be switching it out for a better one. the question is, which one. so what is the best cam to use on an otherwise stock motor. stock heads, bottom end, w/LS6 intake. for an auto car

he needs to do his own reaserch but a 228/228 on 112 would be a good all around cam. Some like bigger some like smaller, the 224/224 on 114 is also very popular. But is he does not match it to his stall he could lose a ton of power

If your going with supporting mods(Lt's,heads,or headwork etc) The tr224 is a good all around cam.A cheaTR cam is a good drop in cam for stock exhaust,Stock ish motor.It all depends on your goals.

there really isnt a good cam only cam!! but yeah it is tough to beat the popular 224/224 cam overall though.

put a converter in it first, forget a cam until thats done. you'll gain more from a converter than from a cam anyhow.
