Question Question has been asked before!!!

So im installing new heads that have milled .060 polished and ported, machine by Race Prep, i'll be running 236/240/.600/.600/112 with OEM head gaskets, .053thick the Q...is can i still use my Harden push rods 7.4's???

I am running 7.450 with stock headgaskets and unmilled heads. I'm sure your cam has a smaller base circle that would require 7.425 or 7.450 pushrods. So say 7.450 - .060 (for the mill) would get you 7.390 right? I would say yes you could but .060 being milles is ALOT to mill off of a head.

You're right, it has been asked a million times and a million guesses have been thrown out, but the correct answer is pushrod length checkers are cheap and easy to use.

Hey thx for replying, yeah .060 is alot of milling but these heads have allready been milled, so i think i'll be fly cutting pistons..............anywho i'll be getting the heads this coming week so we'll see "said the blind man"

for sure if you have not got flycut pistons you will for sure want to clay the piston as that is a lot of mill . i tried a 236/236 with .021 milled heads and it did not have enough space at all on my setup .
