What cam size should I go with?
Im looking for a cam size that i wouldn't need to swap my pushrods, valves and springs. I want the choppy sound also. Any advice would help.

Your not going to be able to go too big with a cam if you dont want to change springs and pushrods etc. For a choppy idle you will want to go with a LSA of about 112 or 110.

basically you don't want to change the 2 most REQUIRED upgrades when doing a cam...springs and pushrods.
stock springs are barely good up to .525" lift. even small cams have that much lift.
and the stock pushrods are weak, thats why eveyrone bends them when they overrev the motor.
valves are fine, obvioously since stock heads work fine with many cams.
if you pick a cam under .600" lift you have plenty of choices on inexpensive springs...like comp 918s or even LS6 springs (.570" max i think).
you want an aggressive cam, but don't want to do it right....not smart.

I'm not sure what you can do without a spring swap. I've seen guys run our 228 cam with xe lobes & stock pushrods. If you tried that you'd definately need the 918 springs for the cam though....
Honestly your really need to go with a cam package to do this properly though...

or with double springs:

Why dont you want to change your valve springs and pushrods?
We offer a complete cam package along with a tool rental to do the job. You also get all the support you need by telephone.
Really it isnt a hard job, you just need the right tools to make it easier and I've taken care of that.
Now I do offer an Edelbrock cam that does not require a tune but you should change your springs at the minumum. Weak pushrods could deflect as well. BUT you would save on the tuning end of things which can be from $200-$500
