Default does LSA have vs PTVC??

have any of you heard of LSA causing problems with piston to valve clearance?? i have a buddy that had his heads milled by absolute speed about 5-6 years ago and he was not given any info on what was done to them as far as the milling, but the guy said not to run anything more then 224/228 .581/.581 114 lsa with the heads, the motor is a 11:1 motor, so some of you cam gurus out there please give us some help his goal is to get a better "sound" out of the car and right now it is pretty tame and he want it to be more choppy any help would be great thank

I'm no guru but when at the limits LSA will come into play with PTVC. I would think with some #s like cc of the head and cam specs you could get a ball park and then messure when the time comes.

In general terms a tighter LSA will lower PTV, but you really need to measure. It really comes down to exhaust closing & intake opening. Also, it is the valve seat timing not the numbers at 0.050" that should be examined. A cam with identical duration at 0.050" may have different seat timing due to the lobe design and one will provide a lower PTV then the other.
