Default Is this safe for an aluminum head?

I have used these to clean old gaskets off iron heads with great success, and I see people were using em in here too it seems. Just wanna be 100% sure this will be safe for cleaning an aluminum head (317)? This will be on a boosted motor with GM MLS gaskets so a good seal is very important. Was going to put the motor togetehr and drop it this weekend hopefully and just wanna be sure about this as my buddy looked at me like I was on some serious drugs when he saw what I planned to use to clean the head gasket surface as well as the intake exhaust sides.

It depends on how fast you're spinning it. If you spin that thing in a 20,000 rpm die grinder, it's going to be very rough on the surface. Get some scotch brite pads. They will do the job and not hurt the surface.

NO! For MLS gaskets you typically need a finish of 50RA or better for a positive seal. Even scotch brite pads wont give you that fine of a finish. If you are doing it yourself, you need to to use the old elbow grease and razor blade method to maintain the finish that is on the heads and block now. Otherwise you run the risk of having a leaker.

it'll be fine if you plan on resurfacing the heads later
