Exclamation H/C setup in need of more power, help me decide!

My mods are in sig, well most anyways. I currently put down 407/368 all motor and am now yurning for more. I know a fast 90/92 will help but i'm wanting to explore more options too. I've been looking at doing a cam swap to a much more aggressive cam, such as the vindicator, trex, or even the new polluter. I realize that these may require flycutting which is fine if it's going to kick ***. I also thought of taking my heads off and maybe have them milled a bit, I need to change my lifters anyways. What would you guys do in my situation?

Well, if you're seriously considering swapping cams for something bigger, then I'd stay w/ TSP and get the MS4. It seems to do well with the 5.3 heads (or any of TSP's heads for that matter). The FAST would net you some hp, but would also cost $1200+ (including tb).

Ditch the heavy *** LS7 clutch and you will pick up 10 RWHP easy.

And ya, I would mill the heads and get the static CR up around 11.5 or so. That'll help with the power making.

i agree with nitrous....also be sure you notice if you go with a big cam, that requires flycutting your pistons, and you decide to mill the heads, your gonna be looking at cutting a lot off of those pistons which might make them pretty weak...

I already have a wet nitrous setup, currently jetted for a 75 shot. I like some killer n/a power though with spray if needs be, just my preference I suppose. Haha, one thing I thought of is if I flycut the pistons, how safe is that to spray on?

The stroker will come with time, once my motor gives up... The MS4 doesn't really appeal to me much, seems VERY peaky and a little low on the torque side. Thanks for your guys input so far!

i think with how much you are gonna have to cut the pistons,it wont be very safe at all if you would spray, let alone not spraying...

1. More N2O
2. Bigger camshaft
3. 92/92

Hmm, well right now i'm leaning more towards swapping the lifters and having the heads milled a bit and see where that gets me, then i'll look into getting one of those damned expensive fast intakes.

Those numbers really aren't horrible. Just the 9" by its self will eat almost 10 hp, now with 4:11s, we're talking 15-20rwhp. Mill the heads and get a 92/92 setup. The LS6 is not letting your motor breathe enough.

Sell the heads and valvegear and get some better ones. T4P with compatible cam and valvegear comes to mind. Less cam and more power and better drivability.

OOPS, not a sponsor, so read fast before this is deleted.

And replace it with what? The clutch ain't the problem. I would first look at a better cam for those heads. I don't think the TV.2 was a great performer which is why the TV.3 was developed. The MS3 is pretty much a guaranteed 450rwhp with a 90/90 or better setup with the 5.3 heads. You just need to come up with a working combination...

You should look at some Trick Flow dyno threads. Some guys are making really impressive numbers on a stock bottom end with their heads. If I had it to do over, I would definitely go that direction. Here's a couple links:
