Default 1.85 Rockers

Does anyone here can estimate the lope and lift with a set of 1.85 rockers installed on a stock 98 LS1 engine, like comparing with other cams out there? the reason I'm considering this is because the ease of installation and it might be easier to pass the emission test here in vancouver.

or is there any 1.9 rocker set out there?

Thanx

I don't think that you'd be able to get a stock cam with 1.85 rockers to perform like an aftermarket cam car. Not enough lift or duration.

Well... stock valve lift on the 98 should be .496 so if it's a 1.7 rocker arm it would be a .292 cam lift. Now if you switch that to a 1.85, you'd wind up with .540 valve lift. Also, assuming I'm not crazy, your duration would increase slightly because the way I understand it, duration is measured at .050 valve lift, and a 1.85 ratio rocker would cause you to reach .050 sooner when opening and later when closing, thus increasing your duration. Now saying it would be a significant performance increase I can't say, I don't have a cam card to figure out all the numbers, nor have I ever heard of someone trying that before.

So my question is are those benificial/ Or should they only be done in certain applications.
To be more precise, I'm planning a 220/220 MTI Stealth with 115 LSA.(Stock heads for now)

Well, just talkin out of my ***, I doubt it could hurt, but I don't think the performance gain would be worth the effort. Might as well hope for a better answer from someone more familiar with them.

if your plans include any cam then stay away from the rocker swap...
imo
it will make every thing you do later harder.. like tuning, ect ect ect...
if you are going to do a cam then choose the spec to fit your needs, the rocker will change those specs making them harder to select and harder to get advice on which cam will fit your wants (as few ppl went rockers and cam)

on the flip side it would be kinda funny to post higher #'s then anyone else on any given cam and not be bs

I agree, if you want to f*ck with the lift, just get a cam that fits your lift goals in the first place, much more proven and better.

Also, the MTI stealth cam has lots of lift anyway (way more than even most 220-228 cams), just keep that in mind.
