crankshaft rotation.. clockwise or ccw?
sorry...lame question, but I don't know off the top of my head.. I'm putting in my main bearings and need to know which way the crank turns when looking at the front of the engine.. I'm pretty sure the U.S. convention is clockwise, but want to confirm, so I get the notches on the bearings to but up against the block correctly. Thanks in advance

Re: crankshaft rotation.. clockwise or ccw?
Given that air bags for the rear end are only sold for the right side, rotation, I would surmise, is clockwise if seated in the driver's seat or counter-clockwise if standing in front of the car. Of course, one must keep in mind that proving the counter-clockwise rotation theory is inherently a dangerous endeavor. I would suggest testing all hypothoses based on the positioning present in the clockwise theory.
