who has a forged ls1 347ci
im planning on buying forged piston ,rods and a crank i was wondering where should i buy from and what kind of power do you forged people make?

I am in your exact same situation but I have chosen NOT to go with a forged crank because there are numerous posting of individuals pushing 1000hp on a stock crank so Im just having my shop polish it and balance it to my forged rods and pistons and I will be done with it...gonna put that money saved into a set of PRC heads which will definitely give me more HP. The shop doing my setup is Pavlock Performance and the guy does know his stuff and has yet to try and just sway me towards something that will make him more money...gives good honest feedback and options which is why I drove my car almost 4 hours out of the way when there were numerous shops in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area that I couldve gone too.

Im seriously looking at some Lunati stuff. The reason being that there is some china made stuff out there thats about 100 bucks cheaper than Lunati but I want to boost up to 13 lbs so I dont think screwing myself over 100 is worth it. My builder recommended Diamond piston as well so I put an opinion request out on the other forum to get some honest opinions. I really think that if theres only a 100 dollar difference in pricing from ok stuff to really good stuff that its worth the peace of mind because Ive seen some nasty stuff blown through blocks that probably could have been prevented. What are you leaning towards?

I am currently doing the same setup, using a new stock crank. Je 3.905 Pistons and Manley H-beam rods. My crank was already cut.020 from last rebuild due to spun bearing. spending about $2600 for all inc. machine work on the short block and assembly. gotta figure out what im doing with the cam and heads. I currently have a G5x2

If you're breaking then engine open you should get a stroker crank. There are rotating assembly packages that will put you at 382ci. You know what they say about displacement.

If you can wait the classified section is a great place to get good deals.. i went the same route you went see sig.. all said and done i spent about 3600 including the heads, cam ect... Power well, thats really gonna depend on the complete setup.. i can spary mine to well over 700 rwhp... just make sure you match up or setup, dont buy randon parts..

Texas speed, SDPC, HKE, a lot of sponsors sell forged shortblocks.
Really depends on what you want to do. N/A, not really worth doing a 347. Go with a stroker. FI, you can go low comp and boost the **** out of it. Like said, on a 347, probably no reason for a forged crank. Going forged crank, might as well do a stroker, your paying for the crank at that point.

you should at least go with the truck cranks, in the 5.3 or 6.0 I believe has the same stroke. But the truck cranks aren't drilled through so they're a bit stronger and I've been told are a lot easier to balance. It all depends on your power and driving goals though.
