Default difference between XE-R cams and "regular" cams?

I say regular because I am not sure what the different kinds are. I have seen this XE-R modifier and I was wondering what is the difference?

The XE lobe is more aggresive (opens the valve at a faster rate because the lobe is steeper) than a standard lobe. And the XE-R is even more aggressive than the XE.

X1 = XE-R
Not sure what the TR lobes are called but they're mighty aggressive too.

I think TSP uses XE-R lobes. LS1 Speed will order you a Comp custom using XE-R lobes for $379. If you need help coming up with a cam. PM Shawn at NCP. He goes by 93PONY.

The nice thing about the XE-R lobes, even being as agressive as they are, they are VERY streetable and allow for a steady idle.

I have ridden in a Z06 with a XE-R 232/236 112LSA that was SO much smoother idling that my old 226/232 112LSA from a few years back.

I guess it is all in the shape of the lobe.

The pictures at the bottom of this page helped me out a bit.

You may have already seen them or are already familiar with the information, but hopefully it will be of some use.
