Appearently the guys over in tools/fab are touchy about their subject matter so I'm posting here too. I've powder coated this water pump Twice already and it works fine. I've been reading that it's a no no but here is some proof it works. You do however need to strip it down. I left the bull nose pulley and back plate with the orings inside. No trouble here.

I agree. We leave the internals in and send it to the coating place. No issues as well. I know it sounds crazy but seems to work just fine!
