Default !!cam guru's!!

I have done some searvhing.. yeah i actually use the search bar... but i am needing a cam for a DD... most of the threads that i find they dont want the choppy sound cuz its there DD... but i want it... i dont want it to be loud but i want people to actually know i have a cam... i have heard alot about the tr224 and the ms4... when i get a cam is all im gonna need it pushrods and valve springs? I have been looking on Texas Speed and found two cam packages that come with valve springs and pushrods but im not sure which one will be better.... Here is the link:

Do you care about HP or torque, or do you just want a lumpy idle?

Something in the mid 220's/.580 lift with a little more on the exhaust side. A 112 LSA should get you good midrange power as well as a mean idle. A good tune should make it play nice on the street with few big cam issues. You might want to go a little bigger with the 6speed, but drivability issues start to creep in above the mid 220's. You'll make more power with a bigger cam, but you won't see it under 5000 rpm. That top of the rpm range pull is nice, but it gets old after a while on a DD if you have to put up with a bunch of cam surge etc. How much time do you spend above 5000rpm? I'm no expert, just my experience with a few LSX motors and cams.

well i wanna gain some hp and torque but nothing insanely huge... i am rarely in the 5000 RPM range unless i am racing and then i am rarely that high.. i am just looking for a mean sounding cam with maybe 45-70 HP gain....

I run a 232/238 .600 lift 113LSA Lunati Voodoo and one of my techs runs the Lunati Voodoo 222/228 .567 lift 113LSA in his LS2 GTO. They both sound mean at idle, that old school sound. They seem to get alot of attention at stop lights. No surging at all and I spin mine to 7000 rpms at the track when racing.
