You are going to need more torque than the cars need to get that 4900 pounds of truck moving. I have a 224/230 612 lift 113+4 LSA cam for better range/throttle response on my LS2 SSR. I'm still getting 20-22 MPG on the highway but having fun in city driving has hurt my city MPG.

Not sure what cam would work best in the the 2003 and 2004 with the other engine.

I haven't had mine on the dyno with the cam. I can say it pulls a LOT stronger in the mid range and was a good choice for me and my daily driving. If I wanted to street race I sure wouldn't start out with a 2 1/2 ton truck so peak HP numbers weren't a concern for me. It has a nice rumble coming through the side pipes with a slight lope but doesn't shake the whole truck when idling at 750 RPM. The cam did nothing for the low end power but from 3500 - 5000 I can really feel the difference.

if its a 6.0 i would run a 224-228 on a 112+2, if you want a lopier idle the the lsa to 110
