Default 5.0 ls2?

Has anyone known of anyone doing this combo? Since the LS@ has the standard 4 inch bore should be as simple as throwing in the 3 inch crank I would imagine. Just trying to find some info on it, thanks.

And before you ask, I have always wanted a 5.0 Camaro to pay homage to the 69 Z28 and the LS1's bore size and lack of being boreable very much makes for an expensive custom crank grind. Thanks for any info.

or u can take a 4.8 from newer trucks which come equipped with 243/799 heads. which are same as ls2/ls6
overbore the 4.8 .060, to displace 5.0 with ls2 heads
problem solved
i have always been fond of the 4.8, the one in my truck has always pulled my rcsb hard.

A 4.8 crank in a 5.7 aluminum block would give about 312-313 (5.1L) cubes, and would be relatively cheap to do. You don't really need to "rev to the moon", but with a single plane you could peak power in the mid 7s and go to about 8000 with stock hydraulic lifters and stock pushrods. I'd probably be using really nice ported 243s in this case.

Of course you can do all of the above with a stock 6.0 shortblock and be a bunch of hp up (about 15%). If you really needed the 5.1L for a class or contest rules, this combo would be killer...and less expensive than you think for the power available. It would fit very nicely in a First Gen Z28.
