What kind of rings come stock in ls2 ? how to tell what bent the Contecting rod? What kind of rings come stock in ls2 ?
I bent a rod on my ls2, im guessing hydro lock but cant seem to figure out how?
The bent rod piston looks a little cleaner then the rest on the top. but engine ran fine all day then 30 mins after drive went to start the car and pop bent rod. but this ran pretty good just was knocking hard. Need ideas how this happend cause new motor is going in and cant break this one too. Car was run on boost but it broke in driveway starting up?

Blown head gasket or defective carb/injector.
I helped a guy rebuild a 454 that hydrolocked due to a bad injector that stuck open and partially filled the cylinder while it sat for a couple of hours. The truck wouldn't turn over, so he tried to boost it. The resulting "BANG" that bent the rod knocked 5 years of dried mud from under the truck. I had no idea that much force was generated by the starter, but I guess the torque multiplication by a small starter gear against the ring gear helped a lot.

Sounds like you had a leaking head gasket. When the engine was running the pressure in the cylinder was greater than in the cooling system. When you turned the engine off the pressure in the coolant system leaked water into the cylinder. When it was started that cylinder hydro locked.
