Default L33 cam in a 2000 GMC

I am wondering if a L33 camshaft has the same journal size as a 2000 5.3 out of a GMC, i am looking at doing a cam swap because I am lifter noise that is so annoying at a cold start. So if you have any insite or proven hp number let me know!

Are you sure it's lifter noise on cold start-up and not piston slap?

Does the noise go away after a minute or so?

I guess it could be piston slap, but it has 137000 on it and it last for about 1minute on cold starts. What do you think it is?

Weren't these older motors known for their "piston slap"

I had a new 07 Monte Carlo SS that had it too. All the Monte SS V8s had it that I've looked at. But.... (not sure why) all the Impala SS motors where quiet. Coinceadence? (SP) or where the Impalas using newer pistons? (Monte used old-stock pistons)
