Default Let's play a game: What's that noise?

The last two times I've driven the car, it's made this squeaking/tapping sound. It seems to be worse as the car warms up. From what I can tell, it's coming from the top of the motor on the driver's side. I pulled the valve cover off and all of the rockers look fine and are still tight. Car drives/runs fine. Oil pressure is good. Temperature is good. What's everyone's best guess? Collasped lifter? Piston wrist-pin?

It's a 408 with L92 heads with stock rockers (offset exhaust) and CTSV lifters. Motor probably has 1200 miles on it.

I appreciate any help, guys.

Poor laptop speakers here...

Are you running GM MLS exhaust gaskets? They are the only way to go IMO. Just covering the easy stuff first...

Interesting. I hadn't thought about an exhaust leak. I'm running the felt type gaskets that come with the Kooks headers. I've heard they seal pretty good. I guess I'll check it for an exhaust leak and report back. Thanks guys.

When I bought new Kooks headers for my 2000 Trans Am, the first thing I did was toss the Kooks gaskets and put in new GM MLS. Also I tossed Hedman's gaskets for my 69 camaro and put in GM MLS... no exhaust leaks from either car

I just checked. Definitely is an exhaust leak from the first primary on the driver's side. Thank you for your help, guys. I'll be changing gaskets out this evening.
