Default spec me out a rotating assembly!!!!

408ci.
twin mpt70s
th400
9"
1k whp goal

I like the callies compstar crank and rods, but idk if they will be adequate for the power level i want to achieve. I seen tsp said they had a customer car that was at 1200whp with the compstar crank. soooo im not sure what to think...??

As for rods, again, i like the compstars' but what are they rated to????

Pistons, i am thinking diamond forged, but havent found any part numbers or specs on these. I want to shoot for 9.0-9.5:1 CR

open for suggestions!!!

thanks

If you want to use Callies I would step up to their Dragon Slayer brand. I would use a Scat rotating assy. personnely. I would use their standard weight crank # 66100927, and their H beam rods # 4Ls140062. I have used both brands (Callies and Scat). In fact the Callies comp star rods are in my engine now. They were reused from my 383. The crank didn't fair as well. The Comp star crank was bent when we tore the engine down. The rods and crank were in a N2O motor making about 650 hp. I went with the Scat crank the same Comp star rods and Mahale pistons with my 416. With the power you are wanting to make use the best components that you can afford. The turbos are easier on parts then N2O. What block? The stock blocks become the limiting factor with boost.

i am kinda planning my build after hunter02ss' original build.

lq4/lq9
flipped manifolds
ect

i know it will be hard to get to 1k whp, but tht is just a number id like to shoot for on a race gas/meth tuneup.

if it only makes 850-900, im still tickled to death, its a street car.

Compstar 4340 would be fine as would any good steel crank. Diamond or Wiseco both have several pistons that will work depending on heads and compression you need.

If you plan on making over 1000HP I would recommend the Dragonslayer Crank, and the Compstar I beam rod. PM me if you have any other questions. -Adam @ Callies
