408 peak RPM range
I have a 408 with TX giant cam and AFR 225 heads with a FAST 90/90, my peak power is at 6200rpms making 506rwhp on a mustang dyno thru a 9inch/M6 car
Does that sound about right?? Just want to make sure I'm not having valve float

That is making great power through a 9/M6 on a Mustang ... congrats. I wish I could pull that kind of power with an S60/M6 on a Mustang (same numbers, but on a DynoJet w/ the 10-bolt), but I am sure my TFS215's are holding me back. What is your peak torque number and what are your head flows if you have them?

im most likely leaving roughly 10-15rwhp on the table with the FAST 90 vs FAST 102 and 104 lid with bigger tubing from the 104 lid to 102 TB
iv seen some people make good power with cnc ported ls6 heads so your TFS 215 shouldnt be a problem
have to check my TQ numbers, dont remember offhand
im just wondering if my RPMs are low do to valve float more or less, what does your rpm peak at??

My FAST 90 is Vengeance ported and I am not so convinced a 102/102 is the answer. Virtually every test I have seen here they drop torque and 500 rwtq is not something I want to sacrafice. i am running a Direct Flow LS1 Motorsports lid, but i don't know what they flow.
I am happy with my heads ... they flowed good numbers:
0.100... 59.6... 68.3
0.200...121.9...139.8
0.300...186.7...218.5
0.400...231.4...270.9
0.500...254.2...304.3
0.550...260.2...314.8
0.600...266.1...321.8
but, I too wonder what I am leaving on the table not having an LS2 head like a TFS 225 for a 4" bore and slightly better flow numbers. My DyoJet numbers peak at 5,710-6150 rpm at 508 rwhp and steadily drop to 470 rwhp at 6,800 rpm. My torque is what I love best about my motor .... it peaks at 497 rwtq at 4,650-4,750 rpm. Keep in mind those numbers are with a 10-bolt, so I imagine I am down 10-15 from those numbers with my S60.

My main concern right now is getting mine to hook with a goal of dipping into the 6's/10's. I just finished a rear coil over install and have a 2-Step and LL to do next. It will be a while for me to concentrate on the motor, but if I do, I may go to a Vengeance-ported FAST 92, TFS CNC 225's and 1-7/8" headers. That would be a chunk of money and I am not sure the gains would be worth it. A roll bar, Tick T-56 build, Tick MC and bellhousing are in my future first.

I have not had it to the 1/4 yet, but it ran 7.5's in the 1/8 at 103-106 spinning well past the tree ..... I have a thread here with some vids ... the mph is there for 6's. I am planning to attend a track day at the end of the month which is a 1/4 ... remember, I have no cage for the NHRA/IHRA tracks like Atlanta (Commerce) Dragway.

I am running a Strange 3" chromoly drive shaft with 1350 yoke and u-joints, a/c as well and nothing deleted.

With your cubes I would still go Fast 102 and a set of 225 trickflows.

Oh, how I would love to go to TFS CNC 225's, but my budget is about busted (I have already gone over what the wife initially agreed too). Front coil overs are probably the last investment I will be making for awhile, but I am thinking it will be in the 6's/10's as she sits. What good is more power if I cannot put down? I also want to upgrade my VROD to a Street Glide and the wife wants a beach house.

Unless you got some special heads, all the AFRs are cncd as far as I know.
Even with that intake combo and heads, your cam is what is going to determine where your power is. With that low of an LSA, I would say your peak power is about right. If you switched to the 102 combo, there is not a single doubt you would pick up power, but honestly if you chose a better cam, it would pick up as well. There is such a thing as having the wrong cam for your intended goals.

It's making power where i want it, I just wanted to make sure I wasnt having valve float thats all, even if you compare my numbers to the list of other 408s I'm on the higher end, I'm just up and down about the intake
