Default LS1 cam questions

I'm looking to do a cam only swap in my ls1 and I need to know the max lift I can run with factory valve springs

First off this is the Gen IV section and this belongs in the Gen III section but its ok, cam is a cam.

Second, why are you trying to use the stock springs? You are going to need aftermarket springs to help control your valvetrain with any aftermarket cam. The only cam you can run with stock springs is the LS6 cam and that, to me is a waste of money to just swap that in unless you are doing a cheapie forced induction setup.

Its supposed to say ls2. Phone auto-corrected to ls1.

It's cool but you stll haven't said why you want to use stock springs?

Most people seem to forget that valve springs are a wear item. When changing the cam, not only will you be dealing with insufficient springs, but worn insufficient springs.
