Cammed l76 numbers too low? What should it have made
Hey guys, I put a cammed ls6 in my 99 z28 a4 and spun a bearing on the first start up due to low oil pressure from a torn o ring and a faulty oil pressure sending unit, so I cut my losses, picked up an l76 shortblock for a STEAL, and swapped everything over.
Performance specs are:
236/236 .601/.601 113lsa comp cam
Stock ls6 heads
Stock ls6 intake with ported TB
3.73 gears in an auto.
Made 396 at around 6200 I believe, and held it there until around 6600 with the converter locked.
Peaked torque in the 380s, I forgot the specifics. I'll try to get the dyno sheet when I drop by the shop tomorrow.
This just seemed a little low to me. Any input would be helpful. FWIW I had a faulty converter install and toasted the trans the day I had it tuned. Cracked the pump.

I would think your biggest problem is Stock heads and intake and with auto you will lose some power. But think about getting your heads ported. You can lose OR win with your choice of heads.

It was a yank 4400 that was supposed to be restalled to a 3600 but was only stalling up to around 2500. Swapping to a new TCI 3600 while the Trans is being fixed.

I would not get the TCI, you will be buying another in a short time.
Call Andre at Edge Racing and get you a custom 9.5" "street edge" or one from PTC. Both are around $450-$575. No crazy upcharge.
I like them because both don't overcharge you for parts that almost all converter companies get their parts from the same few wholesalers.
Both of them are usually spot on and if they are not, they will restall it.
